Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Windows 2000. Windows 2000 16-bits Direct Memory Access Is In use for Audio playback and only 8-bits Is left for the Digital Joystick to use. Subsequently, the program that uses the Digital Joystick loses contact intermittently.

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft products as Win95, Win98, Win98SE and WinME. To work around this problem, Microsoft had suggested following Method :

• Use the MaxFileCache setting in the system.ini file to reduce the maximum amount of memory that V-cache uses to 512 Megabytes or less.
• Reduce the amount of memory that Is installed In your computer to 512MB or les

Generally, motherboard vender only provides the driver for Windows operating system. The driver of Linux operating system is provided by the chipset manufacturer. The Linux Operating System Is become more and more popular nowadays, so, many of the chipset manufacturer are starting to provide the Linux operating system driver.

Some models of CPU fan on the reseller market will not support this function. They don't have a signal pin from the fan to send through the 3-pin connector to the system. The CPU fan that comes with the Boxed CPU is recommended to use with your system.

Some of CPU fan will generate much noise, it may interfere with the temperature and voltage signals which is reported to the onboard A/D converter. Under such circumstances the hardware monitoring utility will give incorrect statistics. Fan coming with boxed CPUs usually produce less noise.
Please ensure that the CPU fan is powerful enough to dissipate the CPU's heat, otherwise the CPU temperature will higher than the expected.

Please ensure your graphic card can support 3Dmark2001Benchmark. Based on Madionin given information, some of the graphic card's 3D Accelerators are too old to run the 3DMark2001. In order to run the 3DMark2001 smoothly, the system needs,

1. System Memory Min. Request for 128MB or above. (Unshared system RAM 128MB)
2. Video memory 16MB or above.
3. Direct X 8.0a or above.

Microsoft had announced that Windows Millennium Operating System unable to detect some of joystick which Is designed on Digital Mode. To prevent seeing this problem, please visit Microsoft website In order to download the utility (SideWinder Game Controller Software 3.02) that can help your system to relocate the digital joystick.

1. Click the Motherboard link on left side of main page.

2. Choose CPU type by clicking the pull down menu on top of motherboard page.

3. Click the the pull down menu on left side can also find the motherboard model.

Choose the motherboard model. For example, P4M900 Micro 775.

4. On top of motherboard spec can find the links to driver.

5. You can also download the user manual and BIOS from the link on top too.

1. Download the BIOS file from www.biostar.com.tw for the proper model.

2. Copy the BIOS file into USB device, such like USB pen drive or USB HDD (not NTFS format).

3. Power on motherboard and press F12 key during POST screen.

4. After POST, it will show a menu for BIOS update.

Use the BIOS file on the list from left side to update.

6. It will wait a moment for system to load the BIOS file.

Press Y key to flash the BIOS and erase DMI data, then system will update the BIOS automatically.

After reboot, system will running with new BIOS you just updated.

Note: Do not turn off the system power during BIOS update.

[Note] The below update method unable to support a USB Flash drive. Only supported a Floppy Disk.

1.Download the latest BIOS file from the BIOSTAR website to a floppy disk.
2.Insert the disk that contains the newest BIOS file into the floppy drive.
3.Power ON the computer.
4.Press [DEL] key in POST screen to enter CMOS setup.
5.Select " Upgrade BIOS " item then press Enter, refer to Figure 1.

6.Press " Arrow Up/Down " key to choose BIOS file, refer to Figure 2.

7.Press [Enter] to load the BIOS from the floppy disk, refer to Figure 3.

8.At the prompt "Are you sure to flash (Y/N) ", press [Y] to flash BIOS or [N] to cancel the flashing process, refer to Figure 4.

9.After pressing [Y], the flash starts to process, refer to Figure 5.

10. A message " Flash done, Restart System (Y/N) " will appear if the system was successfully updated the BIOS, refer to Figure 6.

11.Press [Enter], then the flashing is done!
