My SATA hard drive is WD800JD. But the HDD cannot be detected by VIA 8237/8237R based motherboards. How do I solve it?

Please install a jumper cap on pins 5 and 6. It will enable HDD SATA 150MB/s only operation. Then the HDD will be detected by VIA 8237/8237R southbridge motherboards. Also please refer the following website link for detail information. Western Digital website link.
