To use the flash utility within the bios,

1. Download the necessary Bios from Biostar website to a FDD.
2. Power On the system with the floppy disk and press Del key In order to enter CMOS Setup Menu.
3. Choose "Bios Flasher" function and the system will auto detect the Bios files which was located in the disk.

Currently, the USB 2.0 Is available on Biostar M7VIF motherboard. In the PC market, only a few model of motherboard able to support USB 2.0 nowadays.

Biostar has done a full test to support AMD Athlon XP CPU for the following models: M7VIB(version1.2), M7VKD(version1.1) and M7VKG(Version1.0).

There are three reasons could possibly cause this issue.

1. Windows XP requires an ACPI (Advanced Configuration and Power Interface) function. Some model of motherboard does not support this function, or bios version don!|t have it enable. Please check with FAE department for detail or download the latest bios for the model of your motherboard.
2. An incorrect mass-storage device (such as a SCSI or IDE controller) driver is being loaded, or the driver was not written for Windows and is not compatible. Contact the device's manufacturer or download the latest driver for the mass-storage device.
3. There is a device connected to your mass-storage device that is preventing Windows from being installed. Remove any devices (such as scanners, tape drives, removable drives, and so on) from the mass-storage device controller. If the computer is IDE-based, verify that you have the master and slave designations set properly. If the mass-storage controller is SCSI-based, verify that the termination and bus speed is set properly. When the system was booting, the BIOS Version will be shown on the top of the screen, located at the Upper Left hand corner. For Instance, your will see something like below, VKB0618B VKB - The model of the motherboard 0618 - The date of the BIOS. B - Stand for Biostar.

1. Click the Motherboard link on left side of main page.

2. Choose CPU type by clicking the pull down menu on top of motherboard page.

3. Click the the pull down menu on left side can also find the motherboard model.

Choose the motherboard model. For example, P4M900 Micro 775.

4. On top of motherboard spec can find the links to driver.

5. You can also download the user manual and BIOS from the link on top too.

1. Download the BIOS file from www.biostar.com.tw for the proper model.

2. Copy the BIOS file into USB device, such like USB pen drive or USB HDD (not NTFS format).

3. Power on motherboard and press F12 key during POST screen.

4. After POST, it will show a menu for BIOS update.

Use the BIOS file on the list from left side to update.

6. It will wait a moment for system to load the BIOS file.

Press Y key to flash the BIOS and erase DMI data, then system will update the BIOS automatically.

After reboot, system will running with new BIOS you just updated.

Note: Do not turn off the system power during BIOS update.

[Note] The below update method unable to support a USB Flash drive. Only supported a Floppy Disk.

1.Download the latest BIOS file from the BIOSTAR website to a floppy disk.
2.Insert the disk that contains the newest BIOS file into the floppy drive.
3.Power ON the computer.
4.Press [DEL] key in POST screen to enter CMOS setup.
5.Select " Upgrade BIOS " item then press Enter, refer to Figure 1.

6.Press " Arrow Up/Down " key to choose BIOS file, refer to Figure 2.

7.Press [Enter] to load the BIOS from the floppy disk, refer to Figure 3.

8.At the prompt "Are you sure to flash (Y/N) ", press [Y] to flash BIOS or [N] to cancel the flashing process, refer to Figure 4.

9.After pressing [Y], the flash starts to process, refer to Figure 5.

10. A message " Flash done, Restart System (Y/N) " will appear if the system was successfully updated the BIOS, refer to Figure 6.

11.Press [Enter], then the flashing is done!

This problem was caused by the DMI data not update properly when update to new BIOS.

Please follow the instruction to update DMI area for system for boot-up properly.

1. Go to CMOS Integrate Flashing Program and choose the BIOS file.

2. Press "Tab" key to go to Update DMI data.

3. Press "Page Down" key to select Yes for Update DMI data.

4. Press "Tab" key again to go back to BIOS file selection area, then press "Enter" key to update the BIOS. Follow the instruction on screen to finish the BIOS update procedure.

5. Reboot the system and it will update the DMI date after POST screen.

New ATI VGA driver does not contain Microsoft .NET Framework.

So system will show warning message when log to Windows start up screen.

When see the warning message on Windows screen, please download the .NET Framework from following links.
