If BIOS update is not successful or failed, system cannot boot properly and Boot Blocker function will be activated. Users can recover the BIOS back when following error message appear on the screen. If motherboard has on-board VGA, the screen might go black. Then it needs to use AGP or PCI VGA card on the motherboard to see the screen output. BIOS ROM checksum error Detecting floppy drive A media!K INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER To recover the BIOS, follow the procedure for backup. 1.Make a bootable DOS floppy disk then copy AWDFLASH.exe utility and correct BIOS file. 2.Insert the disk into floppy drive and press Enter key. 3.System will boot-up to DOS prompt. 4.Type Awdflash xxxxxxx.bf /sn/py/r in DOS prompt. 5.System will update the BIOS automatically and restart. 6.After restart, BIOS has been recovered and system will work properly. Note: xxxxxxx.bf will be the BIOS file name. It can also support the BIOS format other then BF/BS extention. For example to use P4TSE's BIOS for recovering. Type Awdflash TSE0319.BF /sn/py/r in DOS prompt. For example to use U8668D's BIOS for recovering. Type Awdflash U8668R23.DDR /sn/py/r in DOS prompt.

The default IDE detect time on iDEQ200S might be too short for some of the IDE hard drive or CDROM. The IDE detect time can set longer to help detect the IDE devices. To set the IDE detect time longer, please follow these steps. 1. Press Delete key go to CMOS during system boot-up. 2. Go to Advanced BIOS Features. 3. Set the Delay for HDD to 5 seconds. 4. Save and Exit the CMOS setting.

If your system does not have screen output after over-clock. This might be caused by the CPU!|s Front-Side -Bus (FSB) over the chipset!|s limitation. You can restore the BIOS default setting by clear the CMOS setting. Once the CMOS goes back to default setting, the System will able to boot-up properly. Following show the procedure how to Clear the CMOS Setting: 1. Turn off the system and remove AC power cord from the power supply. 2. Set JCMOS1 to Pin 2-3. 3. Wait for 10 seconds. 4. Set JCMOS1 back to Pin 1-2. 5. Connect AC power cord back to power supply and power on the system.

1. Download the CPU driver from AMD`s website.

2. Install the driver and reboot the system.
3. For example, the original speed of AMD K8 3400+ CPU is 2200 MHz.

4. Open the Power Options Properties and set the Power schemes to Minimal Power Management.
5. The CPU speed will go down to 800 MHz when CPU is idling. When CPU loading gets higher, CPU speed will increase by 200 MHz at each time until CPU`s full speed.

6. CPU fan can set to Smart in CMOS PC Health Status. Fan speed will adjust automatically correspond by CPU`s temperature. When CPU is idling, fan speed will keep in minimized speed to reduce noise. When CPU is in high loading, fan speed will increase to reduce the heat.

Note: K8VHA Pro motherboard does not support SmartFan function.

2. Install linux Display driver 1.0-5336

3. Remove (Load "dri" & Load "GLcore") under /etc/X11/XFree86Config

4. Replace from (Driver "nv") to (Driver "nvidia") under /etc/X11/Xfree86Config

5. Add (Option "TwinView", Option "SecondMonitorHorizSync" "30-50", Option "SecondMonitorVertRefresh" "60", Option "MetaModes" "640x480,640x480",

Option "TwinViewOrientation" "Clone", Option "ConnectMonitor" "CRT,TV") under the Section "Device" of /etc/X11/Xfree86Config

After you have done the setting above, you will have the function of Multi-Display by CRT & TV(Only).

Please follow the steps to setup the front panel microphone input. 1. Turn on the C-Media 3D Audio Configuration window. 2. Go to Mixer mode. 3. Click Microphone Utility. 4. Select the Rear-Panel Microphone + Front-Panel Microphone. 5. The front panel microphone will enable.

Please follow the steps below to update the BIOS.
1) Press !§ Delete!‥ Key during system boot-up In order get into CMOS screen.
2) Select Upgrade BIOS function.

3) Press Yes to go to flasher utility.

4) Insert the floppy disk then flasher utility will detect the BIOS file.

5) Select the correct BIOS for the model you use. After the BIOS file is loaded, press Yes to start BIOS update.

6) When the BIOS update is complete, reboot the system and finish the process.

1) One Short Beep Sound During Boot-up; --System check is okay and no problem found. 2) Long Beeps Every Other Second; -- It means no DRAM detected by the system or DRAM is not installed. 3) One Long Beep Followed By Two Short Beeps; -- It means video card memory is bad or video card cannot recognize by the system. 4) High-Low Siren Sound; -- It means CPU is over-heated and system will shut down automatically to protect the CPU.

Because StudioFun v1.21 will memorize the last state of the system. So it need to press Alt+W combination key to switch back to Windows mode after StudioFun installation.

If you need to switch from Windows environment to Studio Fun program, please install SFSwitch program. The program will allow you to switch back from Windows to StudioFun by press combination key Alt+L.

IDEQ 200N, 200V and 200P use VIA 8237/6420 chipset to control SATA hard drive. So it require a driver during Windows installation.Without that particular driver, the system unable to recognize the SATA HDD. During Windows 2000 and XP installation, press F6 to install third party driver. After that, insert the floppy disk which contain the SATA driver. The installation process will continue after the system able to detect the SATA HDD.

VIA SATA RAID driver under the following directory in the driver CD.
x:\Driver\SATA\VT6420\DriverDisk\SATA

Please copy all of the files and folders into a floppy disk, then Windows will be able to recognize the driver. Or you can unzip the driver to a floppy disk from following link.
