1. Download the BIOS file from www.biostar.com.tw for the proper model.

2. Copy the BIOS file into USB device, such like USB pen drive or USB HDD (not NTFS format).

3. Power on motherboard and press F12 key during POST screen.

4. After POST, it will show a menu for BIOS update.

Use the BIOS file on the list from left side to update.

6. It will wait a moment for system to load the BIOS file.

Press Y key to flash the BIOS and erase DMI data, then system will update the BIOS automatically.

After reboot, system will running with new BIOS you just updated.

Note: Do not turn off the system power during BIOS update.

If BIOS update is not successful or failed, system cannot boot properly and Boot Blocker function will be activated. Users can recover the BIOS back when following error message appear on the screen. If motherboard has on-board VGA, the screen might go black. Then it needs to use AGP or PCI VGA card on the motherboard to see the screen output. BIOS ROM checksum error Detecting floppy drive A media!K INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER To recover the BIOS, follow the procedure for backup. 1.Make a bootable DOS floppy disk then copy AWDFLASH.exe utility and correct BIOS file. 2.Insert the disk into floppy drive and press Enter key. 3.System will boot-up to DOS prompt. 4.Type Awdflash xxxxxxx.bf /sn/py/r in DOS prompt. 5.System will update the BIOS automatically and restart. 6.After restart, BIOS has been recovered and system will work properly. Note: xxxxxxx.bf will be the BIOS file name. It can also support the BIOS format other then BF/BS extention. For example to use P4TSE's BIOS for recovering. Type Awdflash TSE0319.BF /sn/py/r in DOS prompt. For example to use U8668D's BIOS for recovering. Type Awdflash U8668R23.DDR /sn/py/r in DOS prompt.

Этот способ обновления не работает для обновления с флеш накопителя, только с дискеты.

1.Скачайте самую последнюю версию BIOS с сайта BIOSTAR и скопируйте ее на дискету.
2.Вставьте дискету в дисковод.
3.Включите компьютер.
4.Нажмите клавишу [DEL] для того, чтобы  открыть установки CMOS.
5.Выберите "Upgrade BIOS ", нажмите [Enter].

6.Выберите нужный файл BIOS.

7.Нажмите [Enter], чтобы загрузить BIOS с дискеты.

8.Когда вы увидите вопрос "Are you sure to flash (Y/N) ", нажмите [Y], чтобы установить BIOS или [N] для отмены.

9.После нажатия [Y], начнется процедура обновления.

10. Появление сообщения " Flash done, Restart System (Y/N)" означает, что BIOS был успешно обновлен.

11.Нажмите [Enter], процедура обновления завершена!

1. Please try to download correct (lastest) BIOS file via your model's download page. 

2. Copy this BIOS file into a bootable USB flash drive as Root Path, then you will need to rename BIOS file as "AMIBOOT.ROM". More detail by refer to below.

3. Remove the CMOS battery, set the CMOS clear jumper to reset CMOS.

4. Wait for a while, then put back the battery, set the CMOS clear jumper to original state.

5. plug the USB flash drive into your system.

6. Power on System while pressing "Ctrl+Home" continuously.

7. After 30 seconds or more, it might be appear below Recovery screen.

After done,  you can reset the system and get POST display normally.

If the method can not help you,  we suggest you contact with local seller for future help.

For mining purpose in  BIOS version (7/10) and later version of BIOS, default setting for CSM is set to disabled. In which video is set to UEFI mode. If your GPU does not support UEFI then display through GPU is not supported. Please disconnect all GPU and connect monitor to on-board DVI port, then set on-board display as primary display device in BIOS. Then you can connect GPU back to motherboard and display through on-board DVI at the same time.

1. Power off and unplug all VGA card.
2. Connect moniter display with onboard DVI.
3. Power on and press "DEL" into BIOS set primary display from onboard.(BIOS/Chipset/System Agest(SA) Configuration/Primary display => IGFX).
   Then press "F10" save & exit.
4. Power off again and plug back all VGA card and power on to check whether get all VGA cards.
   PEX1_1-PEX1_5 => Chipset Menu / PCI Express Configuration.
   PEX16_1 => Chipset Menu / System Agent(SA) Configuration
5. If not get all , please check riser card whether work properly.  

If  AMD VGA card overclock and after install driver still show Yellow exclamation mark in Device Manager , here has a method might be fixed issue.

1.  Enter into Windows OS, and install graphic cards driver.
2. After installed driver finished,restart system and check :
   My Computer > Device Manager > To check the graphic cards if all can be recognized OK. 
   ==> If graphics cards show Yellow exclamation mark, it needs install Patch file
3. Run Patch file as Administrator then install.  After install done,please restart system and enter into Windows OS, and check all graphic cards can be recognized well with No Yellow exclamation mark . 
   
4. If check no problem,customer can start to mining.

There are new minimum hardware requirements for Windows 11. In order to run Windows 11, devices must meet the hardware specifications. Devices that do not meet the hardware requirements cannot be upgraded to Windows 11.

• Processor: 1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster with 2 or more cores on a compatible 64-bit processor or System on a Chip (SoC)
• RAM: 4 gigabyte (GB)
• Storage: 64 GB or larger storage device
• System firmware: Trusted Platform Module (TPM) version 2.0
• Graphics card: Compatible with DirectX 12 or later with WDDM 2.0 driver
• S mode is only supported on Home edition of Windows 11. If you are running a different edition of Windows in S mode, you will need to first switch out of S mode prior to upgrading.

Most BIOSTAR motherboards can support Win 11 OS, and their BIOS have built-in TPM2.0 (Software)(*) and Secure Boot options(**). You can install Win 11 OS and don’t need to change the BIOS setting .The BIOS default of setting is ready for win11 OS install.

You can use win10 OS of MB driver to install at win11 OS.

4. After POST screen, BIOS-FLASHER utility will pop out. Choose [fs0] to search for BIOS file.

9. Press [F4] key to save configuration and reset.

Or go to Save & Exit page to select Save Changes and Reset.

10. System will work properly after next boot up.

При загрузке системы в верхнем левом углу  экрана вы можете найти обозначение текущей версии BIOS. Например, VKB0618B, где VKB – модель материнской платы, 0618 – дата издания BIOS, буква B в конце означает Biostar.

Boot Block Recovery from Floppy Disk
Boot Block Recovery from Floppy Disk is a standard feature of the AMIBIOS8 core, and
is enabled by default. This allows the user to recover a BIOS image using a standard
floppy disk without the need for additional utilities.

Instructions for manually initiating Boot Block Recovery from Floppy Disk:
1. Insert the floppy disk with the new BIOS file in the root directory into
drive A:. In most cases the file must be named AMIBOOT.ROM for the
recovery process to load the file. However, this filename may differ
from one product to another. Please consult the system motherboard
documentation for more information.

2. Press and hold the <Ctrl> and <Home> keys down while turning the
power on. Continue to hold the <Ctrl> and <Home> keys down until the
access light on the floppy drive comes on. It may take a few seconds or
more before this light turns on.

3. Release the <Ctrl> and <Home> keys. AMIBIOS issues a series of beep
codes that indicate that the system BIOS ROM file is being updated.
There will also be a progress dialog displayed on the screen after the
file has been loaded.

4. When the flash ROM has successfully been programmed, the computer
will reboot. Please do not interrupt the BIOS flash process until it has
fully completed.

One function of the AMIBIOS Boot Block code it to test the integrity of the BIOS image
in flash memory. If AMIBIOS8 Boot Block code detects a problem with the BIOS image,
Boot Block recovery will automatically be initiated. This condition will be indicated
using a series of beep codes.

Boot Block Recovery from IDE CD-ROM
Boot Block Recovery from IDE CD-ROM is nearly identical to Boot Block Recovery from
Floppy Disk, except that the BIOS image is loaded from CD-ROM. The BIOS image may
be loaded from CD-R & CD-RW drives, even if the drive was burned as a multi-session
disk. In most cases the file must be named AMIBOOT.ROM for the recovery process to
load the file.

Boot Block Recovery from USB Storage
Boot Block Recovery from USB Storage is nearly identical to Boot Block Recovery from
Floppy Disk, except that the BIOS image is loaded from a USB Storage Device. This
includes a variety of USB devices that meet the USB Mass Storage Class definition.
• USB Floppy
• USB Flash Drive
• USB CDROM & CDRW
• USB ZIP & LS-120/LS-240 “Superdisk”

Эта проблема связана с тем, что данные DMI некорректно обновляются при обновлении BIOS.

Для решения проблемы, следуйте инструкциям, приведенным ниже.

1. Зайдите в CMOS Integrate Flashing Program и выберите файл BIOS

2. Нажмите "Tab", чтобы перейти к обновлению данных DMI.

3. Нажмите "Page Down" и выберите Yes для обновления данных DMI.

4. Снова нажмите "Tab", чтобы вернуться в область выбора файла BIOS, нажмите "Enter". Следуйте инструкциям на экране для завершения процедуры обновления BIOS.

5. Перезагрузите компьютер.

How can you to fix the problem?
This is because Microsoft Windows 7 which not bundle it, so you can try to install the Microsoft HotFix KB3020369 and KB3125574 before install onboard Chipset and Graphics drivers.
Of course, if the action still not to fix, please try to run Windows 7 online Update to latest version.

Please ensure your board connect to network, first

If these hot fix still not to fix, please try to run Windows 7 online Update to latest version. 

<< Step.4  Install Chipset driver and graphic driver again >>
After that, then you will start to install onboard chipset and graphics driver.

Last, both of yellow Exclamation marks (AMD PSP 2.0 Device & AMD High Definition Audio Device) will disappears after follow above 4 method.

• Hardware 
  Ensure hardware connect properly first.
  (1). Check VGA card 
  Try to only plug one VGA card in PEX16_1 (long yellow slot) directly without riser card => Check whether display
  
  (2). Check Riser card 
  Try to plug VGA card with only one riser card to test per PEX1 and PEX16_1 => Check whether display.
  
  (3). Check CPU socket Pin
  Remove CPU and check CPU Socket pin whether bent.(If bent , might be no power on or no display.
  
  (4). Check Riser Card and VGA card power are connected properly.

• Under BIOS
  (1). Ensure BIOS up to latest.
  TB250-BTC => B25CFB29.BSS or latest
  TB250-BTC+ => B25EFB29.BSS or latest
  TB250-BTC Pro  => B25DB29.BSS or latest
  After update and get POST , BIOS will detect PCIE and show each slot status automatically.
  
  (2). Plug all VGA card in slot and into BIOS to check whether get (Present)
  PEX1_1-PEX1_11 => Chipset Menu /PCH-IO Configuration / PCI Express Configuration.
  PEX16_1 => Chipset Menu / System Agent(SA) Configuration
  
  (3). Check BIOS setting. (Or use BIOS default setting)
  Enable Mining mode (Chipset / Mining Mode)
  Enable Above 4G Decoding (Chipset / System Agent (SA) Configuration / Above 4G MMIO BIOS Assignment)
  Disable CSM Support (Boot / CSM support )
  =>Disable CSM support option , it will only recognize UEFI device.
   
• Under Windows
  ***Please make sure BIOS get all VGA card first.***
  (1). Check OS be installed by UEFI format (How to check install by UEFI)
  
  (2). Check Device Manager do not show yellow exclamation mark.
  
  (3). Check VGA card driver up to date.

Set TB350-BTC / TA320-BTC for mining

Please update BIOS.

3. Disable : CSM Support (BIOS / Advanced / CSM Configuration / CSM Support) 

Set on-board primary display.(Only for Bristol and Raven CPU)

1. Get to Biostar website :  https://www.biostar.com.tw/app/en/index.php

2. Search the model on the upper right corner.

Ex: X470GT8

3. Select "X470GT8"

4. Click Download.

5. Select the BIOS file to download.

6. Then you can download the BIOS file.

Note: You can to use "F12" update BIOS.

(1) Install two PCI-E M.2 SSD on motherboard.

(2) Boot into BIOS/Advanced/SATA and RST configuration

(3) Set SATA mode selection to Intel RST Premium, both PCIe storage to RST controlled

(4) Set Boot/storge to UEFI, then Save & Exit BIOS

(5) After reboot, get into BIOS/Advanced/Intel® Raple storage Technology

 (6)Select create RAID Volume

(7) Choose Raid Level for RAID0 or RAID1

(8) Select both device by press SPACE Key, then the [x] will appear (Do not press enter to avoid system crash)

(9) Select Create Volume.

(10) Choose Volume1

(11) Press F10 to save and exit

(12) Create a Win10 installation USB drive

(13) Copy Intel RST driver into Win10 USB drive (32bit or 64bit according to your system)

(15) During the installation OS will ask you to load RST driver, select the directory with RST driver and continue.

2. Key in msinfo32
   
3. System Information will show BIOS mode.
